This week's blog we're going to write about something completely different. Since we are ending another year, some of us like to create goals for the upcoming year. If you are tired of your career or job and want to make changes in your employment in 2010, here is a list of tried and true questions to ask during a job interview.
To stand out amongst the other applicants, ask the Manager or Human Resources person the following questions.
What is a typical day like?
Do you have training programs?
How many employees do you have?
Is there advancement opportunity?
Is the schedule flexible?
Can I tour the home office?
What is the Turnover rate?
Why are you hiring?
What are the Shifts?
Who would be my immediate supervisor?
Is a CDL (or other specialty license you hold) valuable to you?
Then tell them about YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS, such as:
If you saved a previous company $$$$ give details
How you made a certain situation or problem into a challenge and how you solved it
Don’t get personal with conflicts, talk about the team instead
Talk about how you finished a project, your thoroughness
Introduce new procedures - be creative!
The above list of questions and comments have helped me personally get into the best companies or at least make a statement during the interview process. Don't sit there and answer their questions, get involved inthe interview!!!
I hope you have a Happy Holiday Season and Happy New Year in 2010
