CEAG: Crucial Enduring Advertising Goals
Is your ultimate goal to create a buzz about your business or product now, but not later? The music business calls that a one-hit wonder. We call it viral videos. Unless you create a campaign to follow up on the first video, it’s a one time position in marketing.
But if your goal is to create long-term standing of your brand, then you need to look beyond the here and now! Don’t waste your time, money and energy on designing a campaign that ends after people get bored with the video. Think about your audience or customer base first. What do they want, seek, expect? What would be considered continuing entertainment after the thrill wears off? The answer is crucial.
Just like many professionals have to obtain continuing education credits annually, your video marketing plan should include a series of levels of both entertainment and instruction. Something has to be in it for the v iewer if you want their loyalty! That is enduring.
